Historical Preservation Meets Modern Living

Originally constructed in 1815 and later moved to its current location by horse, the 1815 Farmhouse in Dublin, NH, embodies historical preservation through innovative design. This project includes a 3,093 square-foot addition and a renovation of the original structure.

Project Highlights:

  • Structural Harmony: The new addition maintains the farmhouse aesthetics through a modern interpretation, linking the two sections via a one-story connector.
  • Reuse and Sustainability: Kitchen cabinets were fabricated from reclaimed wide plank flooring, while other materials like wainscoting, doors, and hardware were salvaged and reused. An efficient wood-pellet boiler and a ground-mounted 10 kW PV system heat the home.
  • Original Features: Oak flooring harvested from the property, and the creative reuse of original materials, celebrate the farmhouse’s heritage.
