Designing for Generations, Not Just the Present
Some homes are designed for a moment. Others are shaped to hold generations.
On the shores of New Hampshire’s Squam Lake, a mid-century summer house has been part of one family’s story for more than sixty-five years. As the family has grown and changed, the house has evolved with them, preserving what has made it meaningful while adapting to how three generations live, gather, and return today.
This project explores what it means to design for longevity: not simply preserving a home’s history, but thoughtfully carrying it forward.
